Pumps and Pump Spares

Globseals supplies pump spares and, on enquiry, pumps for water, process and general industrial duty. Pump spares are among the most commonly requested items: seals, bearings, impellers, wear rings, shaft sleeves, gaskets and repair kits. Because pumps differ widely, the nameplate is the starting point for almost every enquiry.

  • Spares for common pump types
  • Mechanical seal and gasket kits
  • Impellers, rings and sleeves
  • Nameplate-led identification
Pumps and Pump Spares

Overview

A pump has a few components that control reliability: the shaft seal, bearings, impeller and wear parts. Wear rings and sleeves maintain internal clearances; as clearances open, flow and efficiency fall. Replacing wear parts at the right time is usually less costly than replacing the pump.

For seals specifically, see mechanical seals. For overhaul work, see pump repairs and refurbishment.

Pump types and typical spares

  • End-suction centrifugal: impellers, wear rings, shaft sleeves, bearings, seals, casing gaskets.
  • Multistage and vertical pumps: stage impellers, diffusers, bushes, shafts, couplings.
  • Submersible and sewage pumps: mechanical seals, O-rings, impellers, cables and glands, oil.
  • Borehole pumps: stage kits, couplings, check valves, motors and cables.
  • Slurry pumps: liners, impellers, expeller rings, packing and seals.
  • Positive displacement pumps: gear, lobe, progressive-cavity (rotors, stators), and diaphragm pumps (diaphragms, valves).
  • Dosing and chemical pumps: diaphragms, check valves, tubing and seals.

You can enquire about genuine or compatible spares for equipment from manufacturers such as Grundfos, KSB, Flygt, Lowara, Goulds, Sulzer, Flowserve and Fristam.

Drinking-water and food-contact pumps require technical review and the correct certification documents. Values here are typical only; always confirm against the manufacturer's data for your application.

How to identify pump spares

  1. Photograph the nameplate and note make, model, serial number, flow, head, speed and year, if shown.
  2. Photograph the pump from a few angles, particularly the seal area and impeller if accessible.
  3. Note the fault or reason for replacement.
  4. Measure the shaft diameter at the seal and the key part dimensions if the nameplate is missing.
  5. Send everything through Find My Seal or the quote request form.

Without a clear identification, parts may be mismatched. Where identification is unresolved, ask for a technical review.

Information to send with your enquiry

The more of the following you can supply, the faster the part can be identified and quoted.

  • Pump make, model and serial number from the nameplate
  • Part needed: seal, impeller, ring, sleeve, kit or a complete pump
  • Flow, head, speed and motor details
  • Shaft and seal sizes
  • Medium and temperature
  • Photos and any exploded drawing or part list
  • Quantity and urgency

Genuine and compatible replacements

Customers can enquire about genuine or compatible replacement parts for equipment from manufacturers such as Burgmann, John Crane, Chesterton, Grundfos, KSB, Flygt, Lowara, Goulds, Sulzer, Flowserve, Klinger, Flexitallic, Trelleborg and others. A genuine part is supplied by or made to the original equipment manufacturer's specification and part number. A compatible part is made to fit the same dimensions and duty, usually by another manufacturer, and may differ in material or finish. Compatible pump spares are made to fit the same dimensions, but impeller diameter, material and tolerance can differ from the original. Operating performance, warranty status and approvals of the original manufacturer may be affected; ask for guidance. State clearly in your enquiry which you want, and say whether a part number or sample is available.

How to buy

Globseals supports three ways to buy, and the right one depends on how well the part is defined.

  • Buy online where a product listing shows a confirmed price. Products are being added to the shop progressively, so not every item in this category is listed yet.
  • Request a quote for custom, bulk or unpriced items. Pump spares in quantity and complete pump requests are quoted. Use the quote request page.
  • Technical review when identification is unresolved. Examples include old or unidentified pumps, special materials, and potable or food duty. Start with Find My Seal or upload a drawing.

You can also phone 011 079 6033 or WhatsApp 079 508 0989, or email info@globseals.com. See delivery and collection for how orders are handled; courier costs are quoted per order.
