Packaging and print
Seals for Packaging and Printing Machinery
Printing presses, corrugators, folder-gluers, form-fill-seal machines and labellers use large numbers of pneumatic cylinders, rollers, vacuum systems and ink or glue pumps. Small seal failures cause registration problems, vacuum loss and leaks onto product. Globseals helps converters and printers source pneumatic seals, O-rings, oil seals, pump seals and special parts.
- Pneumatic cylinder seals
- Vacuum system O-rings
- Ink and glue pump seals
- Roller oil seals

Sealing challenges in packaging and printing
Typical sealing issues on packaging and printing lines include:
- Pneumatic cylinders on packaging machines running millions of cycles
- Vacuum pumps, suction cups and manifolds where small O-ring leaks reduce pick-up reliability
- Solvent-based inks, wash-up solutions and adhesives that swell some elastomers
- Corrugator steam rolls and rotary joints running hot under pressure
- Starch and hot-melt glue systems that harden on seals and valves
- Roller bearings and gearboxes that need oil seals to keep ink, paper dust and solvents out

How to select the right part
Solvent exposure is the main factor in elastomer choice around inks and wash-ups; FKM, PTFE or other compounds may be considered depending on the solvent. Pneumatic seals are selected by cylinder bore, rod size and profile. These are typical starting points only; always confirm against the manufacturer's data for your application.
Where a packaging line handles food and seals may contact the product, those parts require technical review and the correct certification documents.
Information that speeds up a correct recommendation:
- Machine make, model and position of the part
- Inks, solvents, adhesives or cleaning agents involved
- Cylinder bore, rod and groove dimensions
- Steam pressure and temperature on corrugator parts
Technical and identification support
Many pneumatic cylinders carry a code that gives bore and stroke; send that with a photo. For O-rings, measure inside diameter and cross-section using our O-ring measuring guide. Uncommon parts can be reviewed from a drawing or sample.

Procurement and ordering
Print and packaging plants usually service machines on planned downtime days. We can quote seal kits per machine, and our metal machining service covers some worn components, with capability confirmed when you enquire. Availability is confirmed per enquiry.
Globseals offers three ways to buy: buy online where a confirmed price is shown, request a quote for custom, bulk or unpriced items, or ask for technical review when identification is unresolved. Call 011 079 6033, WhatsApp 079 508 0989 or email info@globseals.com.

Frequently asked questions
Can you supply seal kits for pneumatic cylinders?
Yes, send the cylinder code or bore, rod and stroke, and we will quote kits or individual seals.
Which O-rings resist printing solvents?
It depends on the solvent. FKM and PTFE-based options are often considered; confirm against the manufacturer's data and tell us the solvent at enquiry.
Do you supply parts for food packaging machines?
Yes, but parts that may contact food require technical review and the correct certification documents before supply.
Do you supply genuine or compatible parts?
You can enquire about genuine or compatible replacement parts for equipment from manufacturers such as Camozzi, Trelleborg, Freudenberg/Simrit and Corteco. The difference between the options is explained at quote stage so you can decide what suits your maintenance policy.
